You’re absolutely right paul. There’s a Neo-Trad movement behind & supporting these ideas popularised during the time when Michael Gove was Secretary of State for Education &, the British right-wing think tank, Policy Exchange were defining government policy.
Recruiting members from the teaching profession, higher education & media was evidently part of a strategy to normalise and usher in the return of a narrow form of teacher-centred, content distribution & rigorous testing based education.
