Perhaps it’s in the nature of such debates and discussions that polarisation appears. Indeed, in the age of ever shortening attention spans driven by social media, it’s these very polarisations that encourage the debate.
Yes, standardisation has its place and as you point out there is a place within certain metrics and approaches. However teaching professionals and the general public need to consider where this place is and where to draw the line if, indeed, they believe there is one.
The team behind WeTheEducators, myself include, hope that these resources will encourage the teaching and broader public community to consider these points by contributing to online discussions, downloading and sharing the resources and even create their own.
As, I believe, we both agree this is a vital dialogue that belongs in the public domain as the answers will have a profound impact on our future.
