Medium : Broken or Clapped Out?

What’s happening to the place that used to be my favourite place on the web?

So someone in the Medium team had this great idea in the shower and then told us about it over the weekend.

So now rather than telling the author (and your network) that you like their article with a one click 💚 you have to click 👏🏼 up to 50 times to let them know how much you like it.

I don’t know about you but I don’t know anyone who has the time or inclination to click or tap anything 50 times unless they’re a love sick teenager on Snapchat and even then I doubt it.

It’s at this point that I realise I’m stupid. Each month I give Medium $5 of my money along with my content and my efforts in driving traffic to it and the platform as a whole.

In return I get the clap.
