Interesting work with excellent aims and ambition!

I’ve sent up an account @GrahamBM on the hex.bz instance to explore.

My initial thoughts are that it would be handy to have a dummies guide for newbies as, for example, I can’t fathom how to find other users that I know have Mastodon accounts but are on other instances.

Finding an instance “that you trust” seems like a bit of a stretch for a new user who isn’t a dev. I have no idea who runs hex.bz, I chose it because it was the first available one on your list. What happens if I discover that I don’t like who runs it or they have radically opposing values to myself?

I’m concerned that if the instance I’ve joined disappears, or as above they turn out to be run along differing values, I would have to re-register, rebuild my following and refind those I follow. I could be wrong but this seems like a deal-breaker and weakness in the concept.

That said, congrats on getting this started and I will participate with interest.
