Indeed.

The point being that the majority of American, as well as South American & Canadian (and beyond), citizens are the result of European colonial expansionism.

So many of the things that we accept today as normal such as passports, borders, land & resource ownership etc are a result of our ancestors taking something that wasn’t theirs.

We accept things because that’s what we’re taught through the dominant culture. But how is it possible to “own” the land under our buildings or the resources that come out of that land?

Surely it is owned by everyone.

We can’t imagine an alternative system because our cultural reinforcement systems made us believe we would never need one.
