I won’t lie, my confidence in Medium as a platform took a wobble during these 5 years.

Although I understand them better now I still don’t like the claps. I think the curation is still off and overly US focused. I still see articles that are written as though they are social media. I sense there’s still a velvet rope at Medium and I miss the personal contact that I had with Medium staffers in the earlier years.

With the introduction of paywalls Medium made be think about why I write and I realise that it wasn’t really about the money but the ideas.

That said I believe that Medium is going in the right direction and is way better than many other sources of insight & independent publishing. I hope that it continues to improve.
