I guess we’ll have to wait and see although it does rather feel like Medium has lost its way and can’t make up its mind which community or set of writers to show some love to as it lurches from idea to idea.

After such a long time I’m feeling that our loyalty to the platform is being taken for granted. Medium has failed to “jump the chasm” to mainstream and I don’t see any radical thinking that gives confidence that it will. For example, the “claps” feature is bizarre in my opinion when the platform is haemorrhaging publications and writers. A hint at how independent writers may be able to generate a few bucks from the platform in future would help.

I’ll give Medium my cash until the end of the year. But that’s it.
